Dear G,

I miss you too but you know I can’t do what you ask. Remember our agreement – we know this correspondence could be read by a third party. When I left I told you what you should do, and my darling, all I can do is re-iterate. You know when the time will come and honestly, I know that you wrote just to feel close to me. I replied for the same reason. It will happen soon my love, and it will be worth it when we’re in each others arms again,

Always yours, M

Gabriel had known what the answer would be, but reading it in black and white stirred a chill in him that he hadn’t felt since Mohinder had left. Being on the run was like being at War, he had said. He told Gabriel to think of couples separated during wartime, and that their strength would echo through them, keeping them sane.

Mohinder had told him when he could come to get him, when it would be safe. “Start travelling on the day after the full moon of the month we first kissed. Come by boat.” he had whispered, and turned, disappearing into the throng in Madras. Gabriel looked at the letter again, and folded it into his inside pocket as he disembarked the boat, scanning the crowd. There he was, standing under the post office sign where they had said their goodbye. Gabriel longed to run to him, but paranoia made him stick to the plan. Mohinder made sure he had made eye contact, before looking at his watch and walking up hill. It was two o’clock local time, so he would be turning into the second street on the left. Gabriel waited five minutes before following.

As planned, the address where Mohinder was staying was written on a piece of paper and taped underneath the second step of a fire escape. Gabriel smiled at the James Bond-style clues they had been leaving for each other. For all he knew there was no-one on their trail, but the price for becoming complacent was too high to risk.

Gabriel watched the house for half an hour before deciding it was safe to go in. He knocked on the door but it swung open at his touch. Holding his breath, he stepped inside. His stomach dropped as he saw the fresh white business card on the floor next to a small blood stain. He picked it up, and there was the unmistakeable logo of the Pinehearst company, and two words which were like daggers to his heart.

“Too late”.

You can't leave me this way! *wibbles*

Ah, poor Gabriel and Mohinder, why won't anyone let you simply be together?

;____; N-n-n-n-noooooooooo.
*sniffle*

But enough of my bawling! I like how very secret and forbidden this feels. Also, like I need any more incentive to hate Pinehearst. But I'm not gonna turn it down. :D

Oh why? Why does Pinehearst have to royally screw everyone over? Is nothing sacred?!
